Chioma Abia organization pledges total support to Labour Party, Gov. Alex Otti’s re-election as party strengthens 2027 structures

The Abia State Chapter of the Labour Party has continued to consolidate its grassroots political structures ahead of the 2027 General Elections with the formal reception of Chioma Abia Organization, a prominent pro-New Abia political support group, which paid a courtesy visit to the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party at the Labour Party State Secretariat, Umuahia on Monday 20th July 2026.

The delegation, led by National Chairman of the organization Hon. Okeoma Nwaogbe (JP), comprises the State Chairman, Hon. Kingsley Nwachukwu, the Abia South Zonal Chairman, Hon. Chikodiri Alozie, alongside leaders, women representatives and coordinators drawn from various Local Government Areas across Abia State.

Speaking on behalf of the organization, Hon. Okeoma Nwaogbe (JP) reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of Chioma Abia Organization to the ideals of the Labour Party and the New Abia agenda championed by Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.

He stated that the organization, which has remained active since 2015, has consistently supported Governor Alex Otti’s vision and has built a dependable grassroots network capable of delivering any political assignment entrusted to it.

According to him, the organization is fully prepared to work with the Labour Party towards ensuring the overwhelming re-election of Governor Alex Otti and the victory of all Labour Party candidates in the 2027 General Elections.

Also speaking, the State Chairman, Hon. Kingsley Nwachukwu, described the Labour Party as the umbrella platform under which all genuine support groups should operate.

They noted that their visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration with the party leadership and formally placing the organization at the disposal of the Labour Party for mobilization, voter education, grassroots engagement and every assignment necessary for the success of the party.

The leaders further appealed to the party to continue providing guidance and support that would enable registered support groups to function more effectively in advancing the Labour Party’s objectives across the state.

Responding on behalf of the State Working Committee, the Chairman of the Abia State Labour Party, Hon. Peter Azubuike, commended the leadership and members of Chioma Abia Organization for their consistency, loyalty and commitment to the Labour Party and Governor Alex Otti’s administration.

Hon. Azubuike noted that the organization is well known to the party leadership and described many of its members as individuals whose commitment to progressive politics and the Labour Party is not in doubt.

He urged the organization to immediately complete its registration under the Labour Party’s ongoing Support Group Registration Programme to enable the party to officially recognize, harmonize and integrate the group into its activities ahead of the 2027 elections.

The State Chairman further advised the leadership of the organization to remain united, avoid unnecessary internal disagreements and unhealthy rivalry, stressing that unity, discipline and collaboration remain essential ingredients for sustainable growth and electoral success.

He reassured the organization of the Labour Party’s readiness to work with all genuine support groups committed to the continued success of Governor Alex Otti’s administration and the consolidation of the New Abia vision.

The Abia State Labour Party remains committed to building an inclusive political family by fostering strategic partnerships with support groups and stakeholders who share the party’s vision of good governance, transparency, accountability and sustainable development for the people of Abia State.

Present during the courtesy visit were members of the State Working Committee, including the State Deputy Chairman, Apostle Ibe Nkeiruka Eucharia; Deputy Chairman (Abia Central), Rev. Andrew Ohiagba; State Organizing Secretary, Hon. Ikechukwu Ben Oti; State Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emenike Iroegbu; State Youth Leader, Hon. Uche Nwagbo; State Legal Adviser, Barr. Ndubuisi Nwosu; and State Treasurer, Hon. Ngozi Anyanwu, among other party officials.

The Labour Party calls on all genuine support groups, political organizations and well-meaning Abians who share the vision of a greater Abia to continue partnering with the party as preparations intensify towards securing a resounding victory for Governor Alex Otti and all Labour Party candidates in the 2027 General Elections.
